I justed wanted to find out if there is any help for the "older" ladies that want to model. I'm 30 years old, about 5'9 and I weigh about 140lbs. I've always been interested in modeling and fashion but there doesn't seem to be much for girls like me. A lot of places want money which I have none. I don't know how to even get started or where to go. Maybe there is somebody that can help. Please?!
i was actually rooting for allison since day one; however, i feel that she might be better off having earned 2nd place, and here's why: maybe the judges did it because they really did favor her and they wanted her to have an opportunity to chose any modeling contract she wanted . . .if she had won antm she would have been stuck with a covergirl contract (maybe that's fantastic, but i would prefer to have a choice.) she got so far that soooo many modeling agencies are going to contact her. also, allison mentioned herself that she was incredibly proud of what she did and how far she came in many aspects, not just modeling. being a quiet/artsy person myself, i totally know what she's talking about, and am glad she feels accomplished that way. i DO know what many of the other bloggers are saying though. if i were allison i would feel ripped off in the moment . . .and as a viewer am/would be completely pissed. i'm not saying i'm right about the 2nd place thing, it's just something to consider, you know? yay, allison!!! you go girl!!!

I'm totally bummed out right now. I rather wanted to apply for the new cycle of top model, and was really excited when I saw on TV yesterday that they were looking for girls 5'7" and under... because i'm 5'6"....
But, much to my dismay all applications are due in three days (not enough time for me to send a video... postal usually takes 3-10 days) and none of the casting call locations are near... (closest are in california and colorado....both of which are at least two states away, and I REALLY cannot afford transportation to there... especially within three days.)
It really sucks. I really wanted this. Modeling is another artform to explore, and it includes fashion, style, makeup, acting, selling.... all of which I could have brought to the table and more. As an artist it would have been another way to express myself, but alas it is not to be I guess. Thats what sucks about living in a small town no ones heard of, having antenna tv, and a really bad internet connection. =(
So, as of now... I guess i'm stuck with the whole "starving artist" thing, seeing as the economy is so bad that NO ONE in this dinky town is hiring. *sigh*
Dunno if I'll be writing here much... my computer is crappy, and doesn't like many sites. Especially this one. (im typing on a friends computer now)
