For a show that claims to celebrate a woman's "inner" beauty, it is startling at what a negative influence it has on women.
The latest episode had Paulina say that Celia first of all was not a "traditionally" beauty, and also tell her to her face that she was "way old for modelling", because she is 25 years old! First of all what is traditional beauty? Secondly why can't a woman be desirable at 25? You're telling me that in the modelling industry there are no models at the age of 25. Then why does the show screen up to that age. Why not age cut off at 21 then!!!
Every season they claim to choose women of various backgrounds, ages, shapes and sizes, but in the end they reinforce the old typical stereotypes and petty nonesense!
Dang dat gurl took African Beauty to a new level....the wrong level dat is...and those damn RED shoes....Girl they were gettin old.....real models have variety and style.....she dressed in a way to get attention w/o knowing just how beautiful she really was....Aminat....you my gurl....hope u win!

ANTM should possess more than beauty, she should have humility, intelligence, kindness, knowledge of the industry and style.
Tyra has mentioned these things. It's curious why most of these contestants (up to cycle 10) haven't gotten this yet.
I hate when the girl I am rooting for in the beginning turns out to be a total [...]! Don't girls know [...] so ugly?
I'm hoping for the best this cycle.
And finally, a full sized woman is the winner of ANTM. It is still unknown if it was because she really deserved it (which I think she did) or to get some morale for the show back since the last two cycles have been a scam. Cycle 8 winner Jaslene was too skinny and even though the modeling industry is about skinny toothpicks, it was the whole purpose of the show - or at least that is what we thought - that the winner should be a model who progressed throughout the show, not someone with previous experiece like it stricly says on the contract. The last cycle was a total sham and should be banned from t.v., period! Not only did Saleisha not deserve it, but she's not even that pretty.
My favorite was Claire, but as we all know ANTM has transformed from a show that was about turning model wannabees into models to having the stereotypical model win something by violating the contract or by being dumb. That is why they voted Katazyrna off the show, she was too intelligent. They did the same thing in cycle 1. I am extremely glad that Whitney won, even though she was a little arrogant and prepotent, it was about time that someone who represents half of the female population won. She is beautiful and I wish her the absolute best. I would've been happy with Anya too, but I am happy with the judges decision and Whitney will finally represent the true beauty of a woman. Congratulations!
If I would pick the model that has the total package, it would have to be Whitney. She has beauty and brains. Nice personality, although she may come off a little fake, she can at least speak intelligently. I don't get the Plus size model thing though, Size 10 is considered a PLUS? She's gorgeous! Anya and Fatima are pretty, but do they have everything?
